備戰口譯考試的一些翻譯技巧
口譯三字訣：順著譯、補語氣、加解釋
順著譯
由於性質不同，口譯的要求與筆譯大相逕庭，不能照搬筆譯的做法。首先，即使是譯員事先得到了講稿，而且有必要提前翻譯成文字稿，也需要注意避免筆譯經常使用的、把句子順序按照中文習慣重新安排的手法。如果譯文和原文句子順序相同，講話人脫稿時你就比較容易覺察到。而且即使沒有脫稿，聽上去也比較有現場感。
這樣的文字處理，與同傳中的斷句技巧相似。要想熟練地做到順著譯，就需要比較熟練地採用一些同傳的斷句技巧。但是必須強調：不一定要先學同傳才能練口譯。
例：
講話原文：The barrier is part of an overall tidal defence system, put in place due to the increasing height of surge tides in the Thames estuary.
筆譯習慣：閘門是用來阻擋泰晤士河口海潮浪頭越來越高的整體防洪體系的組成部分。
建議口譯：閘門是整體防洪體系的組成部分，用來阻擋泰晤士河口海潮越來越高的浪頭。
補語氣
有時為了傳達語氣，譯員可以增加一些字詞，或者調整譯文來產生講話人預期達到的效果。這些是筆譯中不必考慮的。
例：
講話原文：Mr. President, if you want to find friends of China, you can do no better than looking round here today, among members of CBBC.
參考筆譯：主席先生，如果要找中國的朋友，就看今天在場的英中貿易協會成員就可以了。
但是當時鮑威爾勳爵把話說得抑揚頓挫，鏗鏘有力。我覺得必須在文字上做一些處理，才能把講話人的語氣表達出來。
實戰處理：主席先生，如果要找中國的朋友，除了今天在場的英中貿易協會成員之外，別無他處。
從純文字看，譯文與原文並不完全相符。但是，按照口譯要求處理之後，現場的語氣和效果與原話很接近。這是一個比較典型的例子，說明口譯中需要考慮筆譯中沒有的因素。
加解釋
最典型的場合是對幽默的處理。實戰口譯中經常碰到講話人靈機一動，開個玩笑。如果是筆譯，可以琢磨一下怎麼處理。但口譯時，譯員必須馬上張口說出譯文，根本沒有琢磨的時間。如果有辦法把幽默翻譯過去，當然應該翻譯過去。但是情急之下翻譯不過去的，就補充解釋、說明一下。
例：
講話原文：Two balloons were floating across the dessert. One balloon said to the other: "Look out for the cactussssssssssss!"
想像一下，如果你站在大庭廣眾面前做口譯，聽到上面這段話，一時想不起中文裡哪些字可以產生類似效果，只好先照字面直譯，然後補充說明一下。
參考處理：
兩個氣球飛過沙漠。一個氣球跟另一個氣球說：「小心仙人掌!」 英文里這是個玩笑，因為英文「仙人掌」這個詞的最後一個音是「s」，聽上去像漏氣，指的是第一個氣球光顧發出警告，自己先被扎破了。
後面那些補充說明的話，筆頭翻譯是萬萬不可接受的。實戰口譯中不僅可以這樣處理，而且經常必須這樣處理。
