有一天，烏龜碰見兔子，說：「早上好！」兔子朝烏龜看了一眼，生氣地說：「上一次龜兔賽跑，你爸爸贏了我爸爸，我要再和你比一次。」烏龜笑著說：「那好吧，比賽地點隨你定。」兔子說：「好，明天就在學校的跑道上比賽。」 第二天，兔子和烏龜都來到跑道上，他們請來小羊做裁判。
小羊大聲喊道：「比賽開始！」小兔子撒腿就跑，一口氣跑了好幾圈。兔子覺得自己的尾巴有點癢，可是心裡想著要替爸爸報仇，就忍著不回頭看尾巴，一心一意接著跑。過了一會，兔子實在忍不住了，回頭一看，尾巴好好的，不癢了。兔子再往遠方望去，也不見烏龜的蹤影。兔子正納悶，轉頭看見烏龜已經站在了終點。
"The game begins!" cried the lamb The little rabbit ran for several laps at a stretch. Rabbit felt that his tail was a little itchy, but he wanted to revenge for his father, so he could not look back at his tail and ran on with all his heart. After a while, the rabbit couldn't help it. Looking back, the tail was fine and not itchy. When the rabbit looked far away, he could not see the tortoise. The rabbit was wondering. He turned to see the tortoise standing at the end.
烏龜笑著對兔子說：「其實我一直咬著你的尾巴，你一回頭，尾巴一甩，把我甩到了終點。」兔子聽了，傷心地走了。
